It only took about 18 hours start to finish...
















This is one of my paintings done directly on a wall. It is approx. 4 feet 3 inches tall and about 5 feet 6 inches wide. I painted it with oils and it only took about 18 hours to complete. The frame around it is actual wood, the panelling underneath is wood, the rest is paint, made to look like you are looking out a window on to a porch, looking out in the bay. The two plants down at the very bottom are on a shelf in front of the painting.

I had to show scale, I'm 6 feet tall..

I tried to make it look like the top of the porch was sticking out over the steps and railings. In the wooden frame a light was added for effect. It was hard to capture the realism in a photo, you'd have to actually see it to believe it! I tried to add a few details such as the thermometer, life rings, wind chimes and a few boats to make it more realistic.
 
p.s. yes, this is me in the second photo, I had to do it to show the actual scale of the painting. I'm approx 6 feet tall, needless to say I had to do a lot of stretching...lol
















This was a fun project, I guess mainly because it was a gift to two of my friends. (If I were to charge for this it would probably cost about $3500.00)
